Talks are currently taking place to help make your home more energy efficient, mainly by replacing old gas boilers. The cost of the upgrade will be paid for during the standard life of the boiler (12 years) with the payments coming from the household electricity bills. The more efficient boilers cost less to run, so the cost of the boiler will be covered by the savings in the gas bill.
Minister for Energy and Industry, Jesse Norman, said,
“People living in more energy efficient homes can have lower bills and warmer homes, while producing fewer carbon emissions, which is why the Government has committed to improving the insulation of more than one million homes over this Parliament. This deal will help us to reach that goal.”
